RAISED ACCESS FLOOR
Use this clause where raised access floors are to
be specified by proprietary reference.
Heading: This
insert should be used to identify intended purpose of the raised access
floor i.e. accommodation type. Insert, e.g. in general office area
and reception
Drawing references:
Consultants’ drawings will be needed to coordinate services, raised
access floor support structure and service outlet points at raised access
floor level. The more complex the arrangement of services within the void
the more critical coordination becomes. A complex installation can involve
a whole range of service elements including the following:
• Cable trunking
• Mains inlet cables running across the subfloor to perimeter distribution
points
• Air handling units with ducts or plenum distribution
• Smoke detectors
• Pipe runs for supply, drainage, heating, etc

Product reference: The structural classification should be included
in the descriptions if relevant.
Level of access: Insert Full
Floor panel size: The preferred option is 600 x 600mm,
but 500 x 500mm and 750 x 750mm are available.
Structural classification: Insert manufacturers structural
classification which should relate to a appropriate raised access flooring
standard.
Height: Finished raised access floor height above subfloor:
Insert the nominal height from the subfloor to the top of the floor panels,
including factory bonded finishes where appropriate. The purchaser must
specify this.
Under-floor void height. An alternative to the height of the finished
floor - this may be more critical.
Limits on maximum and minimum heights: State the design limits if any.
Otherwise insert Not applicable.
Other system requirements: Insert, e.g. 600 x 300 mm
floor panels adjacent to perimeter air grille. Perimeter air grille and
supporting framework as drawing A(57) 12-19.
